Galloway Harriers Members Profiles

Chrissie: Club treasurer and supplier of Harriers
branded kit. Single minded in her achievement of targets, and very supportive of fellow runners. Makes lovely
puddings.
Grant Morrow: recently retired chairman , who is moving to Devon, and will be sorely missed
. Fortunate is the club whom he joins.

David Beattie: Club secretary . Dedicated consumer
of calories. Dabbles in triathlons too. Believes that a decent training run should include mud and running water.

Emer: Quietly efficient runner who turns out the
miles with seemingly little effort. Also does a good chocolate cake.

Ian Hannah: Really a very useful triathlete ,
who would be drummed out of a proper running club as he spends far too much time clocking up huge cycling and swimming mileage.
The Harriers, however, will accept anyone. Ian organises our 5k time trials.

Lorri: Self-confessed “plodder” who
continues to improve. Has the misfortune to be married to John.

Simon: Quiet, withdrawn member of the club, but can
be tempted out of his shell. Determined participant over all distances, but especially quick over the final few yards
to the pub.

Ailsa: Trains with her friend Daisy, an occasionally
white terrier. Stranraer society queen and route organiser. Doesn’t like getting her trainers dirty.

Jemma: Achieves credible performances in both running
and triathlon events. Sickeningly fit and can talk as she runs.

John: Senile delinquent with a collection of
self-inflicted injuries. Has a Billy Fury fixation. Still churning out cracking times and winning over 60 age group
titles

Paul: Fashion guru and dog minder. .
Available for Burns Suppers. Will have another pint if you are having one.

Amanda: Enjoys jogging along listening
to her iPOD oblivious to the rest of the world.

Sean: Sean is a classy runner , but his real talent lies in his mastery of the
Stranraer patois. Read his race reports and you realise that we have a 21st century Rabbie Burns in our midst

Ross Bark : Fastest man in the club , and a big "catch" for
the Harriers when he joined us in 2010. Runs times that regular club members can only dream of.

George Winchester: Returning to fitness after a period out of running
, other club members are keeping a beady eye on his improving times

Peter: recently retired to the area and still displaying a handy turn of pace. A keen ornithologist
too .

Paul Cleer: burst onto the running scene in 2010, and times have been dramatically improving
since he joined the club. Has given a good metamorphical kick up the backside to other Harriers who weren't training hard
enough.

Martina Moore: Martina's times have seen a huge improvement in 2011. Keeping other female
Harriers on their toes in races.
Allan Strang: the Harrier who hibernated over winter 2010/2011 is back - good to see him running
again at recent time trials.
Pat: Proving that we have international appeal as a club, Pat lives in Englandshire.
Now the Harriers have gone global .
Ruth Leach: despite the added difficulties of having to look after the
chairman, Ruth is more than capable of turning in respectable performances of her own .
